Admissions Screening in Your Home Country as well as in Japan

  • Admissions screening takes place in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Japan
  • Apply with scores of EJU, English proficiency certificate, and optionally JLPT

Since 2017, ABP has accepted online applications from your countries as well as from within Japan.
The application requires scores of the EJU subject tests (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students) , a certification of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT(R), TOEFL iBT(R) Home Edition, TOEIC(R) L&R, or IELTS [Academic Module]), and optionally, a JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) certificate.

ABP Applications

To apply for ABP, valid scores for the following 2 or 3 standardized tests are required:

1.EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students)

Highlights and Features of EJU:
– Standardized tests conducted by the Japanese governmental organization JASSO
– Tests are conducted twice a year
– Test sites in India (New Delhi), Indonesia (Jakarta and Surabaya), Thailand (Bangkok and Chiang Mai), Vietnam (Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City), Myanmar (Yangon), and Japan
– Subject tests (except for Japanese as a foreign language) offered in English and Japanese
– Valid for 2 years

2.English Proficiency Certificate

One of the following English proficiency certificates is required:

* Note: TOEIC(R) L&R IP, TOEFL ITP(R), and IELTS (General Training Module) are not accepted.

3.Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) (Optional)

If you have a JLPT certificate, the Japanese as a Foreign Language subject test in EJU can be substituted with the JLPT certificate. The approximate levels of Japanese language proficiency expected by each faculty are listed below.
